Services for Individual Physicians

Every day, millions of people go to see their doctors. They are listened to thoughtfully, examined carefully, and have any necessary procedures performed well. They are counseled about their worries, consoled in their grief, helped in celebrating their triumphs.

But who cares for the doctors? What about their worries and frustrations, their responsibilities to self and family, their dreams for themselves and those whom they love?

Physician career satisfaction has declined significantly over the past two decades with approximately one in five physicians expressing significant career dissatisfaction (Am J Med 2001), and the forces triggering professional disillusionment continue unabated.

I help physicians who give their all at work each day, but privately ask questions like:

- How can I restore my enthusiasm for clinical medicine?
- What alternative career roles am I suited for?
- Would an additional degree like an MBA advance a career change?
- How do I set about exploring and then competing for non-clinical roles?

I provide:

We will work collaboratively using a focused problem-solving approach, akin to how most physicians treat their patients. You bring your background skills and aspirations. Using my background and experience we translate your dreams into concrete plans. Most importantly, I help you execute these plans serving as analyst, catalyst and manager through your career transition process.
